Reactable - musikbord

Reactable är ett elektroniskt musikinstrument med ett konkret användargränssnitt. En eller flera klossar ger dig kontroll över instrumentet genom att flytta och rotera klossarna på bordsytan. Genom att flytta och lägga till klossar kan du skapa komplexa och dynamiska musikslingor.

Se på bilden, de runda klossarna bestämmer tempo och volym för alla andra objekt på bordet när du vrider på dem. De två kuberna spelar upp ljudloopar. Prova att lägga på eller ta bort klossar, vrid och vänd på dem och lyssna på vad som händer.

Klossarnas funktioner

Alla klossat har två typer av symboler för att identifiera deras individuella funktion. Den organiska amöbasymbolen hjälper instrumentet att identifiera och lokalisera varje objekt på bordet. Därför är det nödvändigt att placera alla objekt med den här symbolen nedåt så att systemet kan identifiera varje objekt korrekt. Den andra symbolen på ovansidan visar spelarens exakta funktion för varje objekt.

Reactable

The Reactable is an electronic musical instrument with a multi-touch tangible user interface. One or several simultaneous performers can share complete control over the instrument by moving and rotating physical objects on a luminous round table surface. By moving and relating these objects, users can create complex and dynamic sonic topologies, with generators, filters and modulators, in a tangible flow-controlled visual language.

Start like this

Look at the picture, the round blocks determine the tempo and volume of all the other objects on the table. The two cubes play sound loops. Try putting on or removing bricks, twisting and turning them and listening to what is happening.

Objects and its functionalities

All objects have two types of symbols on each side in order to identify their individualfunction. The organic amoeba symbol helps the instrument to identify and localize each object on the table through a computer vision system. Therefore, it is necessary to place all objects with this symbol facing downwards to allow the system to identify each object correctly. The second symbol on the upper side shows the player the exact function of each object.
